Josh Hawley released an ad earlier this morning that has eye-opening footage, to say the least. In the ad, Claire McCaskill is caught on camera saying that “If we do our job in St. Louis County, I can give up a few votes in the Bootheel.”

In the clip, Claire says to her supporters and democratic donors that she doesn’t care about wooing rural voters at all. For someone who has continually said that she’s “in the fight of her political life,” she sure was quick to toss aside a huge swath of voters that she used to make a concerted effort to talk to.

“It’s unbelievable to hear a sitting Senator nonchalantly toss aside a huge number of Missourians, saying that she doesn’t care about their votes,” said Chris Nuelle, spokesperson for the Missouri Republican Party.

Nuelle continued, “Claire McCaskill’s support of Obama-era government land grabs and obstruction of President Trump’s America First agenda showed that she wasn’t interested in rural voters, and this video is defining proof. She better be prepared to lose a lot more than just a few votes in November.”
