Claire’s Obstructionist Vote, Six Months Later

JEFFERSON CITY, MO — Today marks the six month anniversary of the passage of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, yet another example of beneficial legislation that Claire voted against. Because of tax reform and in spite of Claire’s obstructionist vote:
  • Over 500 companies have announced bonuses, or reinvestment in their infrastructure and employees, including Dynamic Fastener, Hunter Chase and Associates, and KC Power and Light here in Missouri.
  • Over 90% of wage earners will see an increase in take home pay.
  • The lowest unemployment numbers in decades and booming job creation, including 223,000 jobs added nationally in May and 13,900 jobs added in Missouri over the first 4 months of 2018.
  • Consumer confidence reached a nearly 18 year high.
And much more.
“For many in Missouri and across the country, tax reform has meant more money in their paycheck, a chance for gainful employment, sizable bonuses, and more,” said Chris Nuelle, a spokesperson for the Missouri Republican Party.

“With the economy booming, consumer confidence rising, historic unemployment rates, and more, Claire’s vote against tax reform looks even worse than it did six months ago. On the same timeline, Missourians will cast a vote six months from now that they certainly won’t regret when they vote Claire out of office,” Nuelle continued.
