Trudy Busch Valentine’s Silence Endorses Cori Bush’s Vote To Defund The Police
Jefferson City, Mo. — Missouri Congresswoman Cori Bush voted against a bill in the U.S. House which would provide funding to the nation’s local police departments.
The U.S. House voted on and passed a policing and public safety package last month which provided $60 million to support local police departments across the nation. Rep. Cori Bush was the only Missouri Representative–Republican or Democrat–to vote against the bill to provide funding for small police departments across the country. Her attempt to defund the nation’s police departments comes at a time when she is spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on her own private security detail.
Rep. Cori Bush has long been the face of the national Defund the Police movement, and the leader of the Missouri Democrats. In August, the Heiress Trudy Busch Valentine refused to disavow an endorsement from Cori Bush.
“Missouri voters deserve to know whether Trudy Busch Valentine stands with Missouri Democratic Leader Cori Bush and her anti-police policies,” said Charlie Dalton, Executive Director of the Missouri Republican Party. “As Cori Bush continues to push radical ‘Defund the Police’ policies that will only lead to further increases in crime in Democratic-controlled cities, Busch Valentine has remained silent. Busch Valentine must be cheering on Bush and her anti-police agenda.”
