The Annual Free Watermelon Feed, hosted by the Republican Women of Newton County and Newton County Republican Central Committee, will be held Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at 6:30 P.M. at Big Spring Park, 308 West Spring St., Neosho, MO 64850.
It’s always cooler at Big Spring Park! The natural valley is shaded in early evening and cooled by the cave springs. Bring your lawn chairs and appetite. The Free Watermelon Feed is open to all Republicans. Ice cold watermelon, bottled water, (thank you Scott and Chris Wade) will be provided—free of charge.
Candidates for Governor, Lt. Gov., MO Secretary of State, MO State Treasurer, MO Attorney General, have all been invited to speak for 3 minutes in ballot order at the 2024 Annual Free Watermelon Feed. The program will also feature 3-minute candidate speeches by all the contested candidates for Newton County Courthouse, which are Commissioner District 1 & 2, Treasurer, Sheriff, County Surveyor, and Coroner all subject to a time-keeper.
A straw quiz will be available to those in attendance. The straw quiz will serve as entry into a drawing for prizes. Featured prizes include ammunition and other prizes. The drawing will take place at the conclusion of the Free Watermelon Feed. Trump yard signs will be available at the event.
Please bring your lawn chairs and invite your friends and neighbors. We anticipate 250+ attendees. . Also, please contact us prior to the event and let us know how many in your party will be attending.
