Kate’s Law Passes the House! Will Claire Choose Safety Over Loyalty This Time?

We write to let you know that two extremely important measures passed the U.S. House of Representatives today.

The “No Sanctuary for Criminals Act” restricts states and localities from receiving federal funding if they refuse to comply with federal laws related to deporting criminals.  Kate’s Law will deter illegal reentry and keep criminals off our streets. Both passed this afternoon.

The importance of Kate’s Law is underscored by the tragic death of its namesake, Kate Steinle. Kate was killed in 2015 by a seven-time felon who had been deported repeatedly but returned each time.

Kate’s story is sobering, but sadly, it is not isolated. The threat posed by lawbreaking criminals is very real. In fact, even lawmakers right here in Missouri  have recognized the magnitude of this issue. Claire McCaskill, on the other hand, has refused to see its significance.

When “Kate’s Law” and the “No Sanctuary for Criminals Act” were before the U.S. Senate, Claire joined the likes of far-left extremists Chuck Schumer (D-NY), Harry Reid (D-NV), Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) and Al Franken (D-MN) in bringing these measures to a grinding halt, thwarting efforts to vote them into law. Claire had the choice to put America’s safety over her leftist-loyalties, and she chose wrong.

Now that both of these measures have passed the House of Representatives, Claire will have a second chance to do what is right for Americans and Missourians alike. Missourians will be watching to see if Claire puts her partisanship aside and votes in favor of keeping Missouri families safe.
