MOGOP-Led Legislature Makes Way for Hundreds of Missouri Jobs
JEFFERSON CITY — This week, the Republican-led Missouri House and Senate passed the “Steel Mill Bill” during special session.
The Steel Mill Bill makes way for the creation of hundreds of jobs for people in the southeast portion of the state by allowing for lower electricity rates affording manufactures the ability to offer those jobs.
Governor Eric Greitens called the special session last week, focusing solely on the bill, and leading a strong effort around the state to rally citizens from the southeast area to urge members of the House and Senate to pass the measure.
One week later, that’s exactly what they did.
“Missourians want to work and that’s exactly what Republican leadership in Missouri made possible this week,” said Austin Stukins, Executive Director of the Missouri Republican Party. “Not only did they see Governor Greitens lead rallies and marches with hundreds of Missouri citizens over the past several days to get this jobs bill passed, Republican leaders in the House and Senate came together and made it happen for their friends and neighbors throughout the state. Now we look forward to hundreds of jobs created and sustained so Missouri families have a better, more stable future.”
