Howell County Lincoln Day
May 18 @ 5:30 pm – 8:30 pm
West Plains Civic Center Exhibit Hall
Jefferson City – Missouri Republican Party Executive Director Jean Evans today issued the following statement on the Missouri Democratic Party’s leadership turmoil with Jean Peters Baker being replaced by former Rep. Clem Smith:
“The Missouri Democratic Party is in disarray, changing leadership with 120 days until the general election. A shakeup in the Missouri Democratic Party leadership in the summer of the election year and the installment of Bernie Sanders supporter former Rep. Clem Smith is not a good development for Nicole Galloway and her campaign.
“Jean Peters Baker has been playing a dual role, failing to prosecute protestors arrested in Kansas City while at the same time attempting to appease the rage mob and radical Left as chair of the Missouri Democratic Party. We call on former Rep. Clem Smith to publicly denounce and disavow the growing ‘Defund the Police’ movement in the Democratic Party in Missouri and nationally. We also call on Nicole Galloway to make a public statement denouncing and disavowing ‘Defund the Police’ and condemning the decision by the St. Louis City Democrats to add ‘Defund the Police’ to their 2020 platform.”
