Brenda Talent to Speak at MO Lincoln Days
JEFFERSON CITY—The Missouri Republican Party, the Missouri Association of Republicans, and the Missouri Federation of Republication Women (MoFRW) are pleased to announce Brenda Talent as the keynote speaker at the MoFRW’s Saturday Luncheon during the Statewide Lincoln Days Celebration.
Talent is the Executive Director of Missouri’s only free-market think tank, the Show-Me Institute, which promotes individual liberty and limited government.
“I’m looking forward to discussing the market solutions I believe will help make Missouri a better place to live, work, and do business,” Talent said.
Before joining the Show-Me Institute, Talent served as counsel to the Saint Louis law firm Bryan Cave, specializing in tax litigation and Missouri state tax law. In 1988, she was elected to the Parkway School District School Board, becoming Board President in 1990. Talent served as a captain in the United States Army Judge Advocate General Corps from January 1982 until October 1985. Talent frequently makes appearances on the Nine Network’s “Donnybrook” in Saint Louis. She is married to former U.S. Senator and Congressman Jim Talent.
“The mission of the MoFRW is to empower women from all backgrounds in the political process and provide a forum for women to serve as leaders in the political, government, and civic arenas” said Angela Stiffler, President of the MoFRW. “This year’s Luncheon offers attendees an opportunity to learn more about the public policy issues facing Missouri before heading into the primary.”
MoFRW (www.mofrw.org) has 51 clubs across eight Congressional Districts. The Luncheon, which will run from 11:30 am to 1pm, is held each year at Lincoln Days to recognize clubs and individuals for their hard work and achievements.
Missouri’s 2016 Lincoln Days celebration will take place February 26-28 at the Sheraton Westport in St. Louis. For additional details or to register, please visit lincolndays.missouri.org.
