Claire McCaskill Quiet on Menendez and We Want to Know Why

The felony corruption and bribery trial of Democrat Sen. Bob Menendez has been going on for several days, but Claire McCaskill refuses to comment on the allegations against her fellow colleague.

Menendez has been charged with conspiracy for exchanging a wealthy friend’s business interests for campaign donations and gifts, international jet-setting, exclusive resort-stays and even faces allegations of affairs with models and actresses.

If convicted, the question of whether Senator Menendez should suffer serious consequences should be a no-brainer — so why has Claire McCaskill remained mum?  After all, it’s McCaskill who is always among the first to criticize President Trump and other prominent Republicans for just about anything she can.

For instance, McCaskill wasted no time lambasting Jeff Sessions when the media tried to tie him to Russia, calling for him to resign within less than half a day after the first reports surfaced. Then, she was swift to hurl similar accusations at President Trump – going as far as to question the legitimacy of his presidency.

And while McCaskill and the left have never been able to justify their outrageous Russia witch hunts against conservatives, liberal hypocrisy reached a new level when it was revealed that McCaskill herself had strong ties to the Russian ambassador.

Perhaps McCaskill is choosing to stay quiet on the subject because her pals, Jon Tester (D-MT) (whom she treated to a Cancun getaway) and Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) (with whom she has voted 86% of the time) are among the Senate Democrats who accepted thousands of dollars from Menendez’s political action committee, and since she herself is no stranger to an opulent, private-plane, tax-payer-funded jet setting kind of life?

“The question of whether Menendez should face serious consequences if convicted is a no-brainer, and Missourians deserve to know where Claire McCaskill stands,” said Keelie Broom, Communications Director for the Missouri Republican Party. “It is disturbing that McCaskill tries to divide the country by hurling accusations and baseless leftist rhetoric at leaders like President Trump, yet chooses silence when it comes to the ongoing felony trial of her friend Senator Menendez.”
