Claire McCaskill’s Favorite Words: “Not Talking About It”
Claire McCaskill seems to have an issue with talking.
In March of 2017, when asked why she voted “no” on the highly qualified and respected Justice Neil Gorsuch, Claire responded, “I’m not going to talk about it.”
In May of this year, when asked whether she would vote “no” on the CIA Director Gina Haspel (she voted no), all Claire had to say is, “I’m not going to about it.”
And just recently, Claire refused to talk about whether or not she would vote against President Trump’s incoming Supreme Court nominee.
Justice Gorsuch is a well respected and experienced jurist, and Gina Haspel has decades of experience in the CIA and is revered within the intelligence community, but Claire McCaskill voted “NO” on both of their confirmation, and then promptly gave weak excuses for both votes.
And now, President Trump has the opportunity to place another Conservative on the bench that will defend life, fight for free speech, and advocate for conservative reforms.
If Claire McCaskill is going to continue to let her partisanship blind her from voting for quality candidates for crucial positions, and history suggests that she will, she should at least answer to the people she was elected to represent.
Questions remain: Will Claire McCaskill ever talk? Or will she continue to go against Missourians and obstruct President Trump’s Supreme Court pick?
Missourians have a right to know.
