D.C. Works for Claire, but Not for Missouri
JEFFERSON CITY, MO — The Kansas City Star report that Claire McCaskill’s husband’s businesses have made hundreds of millions off of federal subsidies is troubling but unsurprising. Time and again, Washington D.C. pays off for Claire while Missourians are left out.
“While Claire was voting against tax reform, which has put more money back in Missourians’ pockets and provided relief for small businesses, her husband’s businesses were raking in hundreds of millions from federal subsidies,” said Chris Nuelle, a spokesperson for the Missouri Republican Party.
“Since Claire’s been in office, her husband’s earnings from these federal subsidies have shot up exponentially, from thousands of dollars to over a million. It’s clear that Washington D.C. is paying off quite handsomely for Claire McCaskill and her family, but Missourians should ask themselves in November: what is D.C. doing for you?”
