Disgraceful Democrats
The eyes of America are on the Senate Judiciary Committee as they hold hearings on the nomination of Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court.
However, anyone watching these hearings have seen the blatant political tricks being used by the Democrats.
Just yesterday, 70 people were arrested at the hearing. The Senate has many cherished traditions and procedures, and these protestors have a blatant disregard for those procedures.
Senate procedures ensure that a nominee is treated fairly, and Democrats had no problems following Senate procedure during the hearings of Justice Kagan and Justice Sotomayor. They only have a problem now that there’s a Republican nominee.
Beyond just the protestors, however, the Democrats on the committee have ignored Judge Kavanaugh’s sterling judicial career and impeccable credentials.
Rather, they have made up a farce about records being withheld. As Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-IA) noted, the Judiciary Committee has at its disposal the largest amount of information about a Supreme Court nominee ever, in Judge Brett Kavanaugh.
The Democrats have also cooked up the idea that Senate Republicans are trying to push through Judge Kavanaugh’s nomination at a blistering pace. This simply isn’t true.
Over the last thirty years, the average time between a justice’s nomination and confirmation has been 58 days. It’s been only 57 days since Judge Kavanaugh was nominated on July 10th.
Chief Justice Warren Burger was confirmed 17 days after his nomination. Chief Justice William Rehnquist was confirmed 49 days after his nomination, and Ruth Bader Ginsburg was confirmed 50 days after her nomination.
The idea that Republicans are trying to “ram through” Judge Kavanaugh is simply a farce.
Yet, these sorts of lies are to be expected from Claire McCaskill’s Democratic Party.
In recent years, the Democratic Party has been moving further and further left. Democrats have lost respect for law and order, and they are now simply trying to disrupt this process and this presidency.
Nevertheless, there’s a bigger question for Missourians — where is Claire McCaskill?
During this entire process, Claire has been silent. She hasn’t told us where she stands on Judge Kavanaugh. She hasn’t denounced the Democratic protestors disrupting the hearing. She is simply hiding.
It’s time Claire tells us where she stands. It’s time Claire stand up to Chuck Schumer and the Resistance. It’s time for Claire to stand with Missourians, not liberal donors.
