During Small Business Week, Missourians Remember McCaskill’s “NO” Vote on Tax Reform

JEFFERSON CITY, MO — Small business week is taking place this week, and Missouri businesses are realizing the positive benefits of tax reform – no thanks to Claire McCaskill.

Since the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act passed, over 500 businesses have announced their intention to give out bonuses to their employees or reinvest in their business or in the economy. In Missouri, small businesses are passing along their savings to their employees, including:

  • Mid-AM Metal Forming: Cash bonuses to all 140 employees.
  • Iron Horse Energy Services: Bonuses to all 93 employees.
  • Hunter Chase and Associates: Bonuses to all 30 employees, purchase of new trucks and investment in new equipment.

Chris Nuelle, a spokesman for the Missouri Republican Party, said, “Tax reform gives small businesses a reason to celebrate this small business week. Claire McCaskill’s vote against tax reform was a vote to take money out of Missourians’ pockets and stop businesses from obtaining the benefits of tax reform. Missourians will remember her obstruction in November.”
