Hey! Let’s Hold Her Accountable!

Team MOGOP is incredibly proud of Missouri’s long history as an agricultural powerhouse! In fact, as you probably already know, we declared August “Salute to Agriculture” month. We wanted to thank and celebrate all of the hard-working farmers, ranchers, and other rural Missourians who keep our agricultural industry strong and robust.

As we continue our salute to agriculture, one thing has become very clear: Claire McCaskill is no friend of rural Missouri. That’s why we thought it was especially hilarious when we learned that she will be holding town halls in rural Missouri this morning. We’re guessing she will conveniently play up her down-home “daughter-of-rural-Missouri” act now that she is up for reelection.

We certainly aren’t fooled by this, and we know you aren’t, either. Check out the below email from the NRSC explaining exactly why Claire is no friend of rural Missouri!

Claire McCaskill is continuing her dog and pony show this morning, where she will hold town halls and pretend to care about the voters of rural Missouri. Here are a few questions Missourians are unlikely to get answers to today.

1. Missourians overwhelmingly supported Donald Trump last November, delivering a 19-point win for the President. So why is Claire McCaskill working so hard to obstruct his agenda? So far McCaskill has voted against seven of the President’s cabinet nominees, rejected pro-life Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch and voted no on 11 out of 13 measures to reduce burdensome regulation.
2. Why does Claire McCaskill have such a difficult time telling Missourians the truth? Whether it’s her repeated lies about her interactions with the Russian ambassador, or that she billed taxpayers for trips on her private plane, McCaskill has serious problems being honest with Missouri voters.
3. How can McCaskill claim to be a moderate when she votes with radical Massachusetts liberal Elizabeth Warren 86% of the time? McCaskill routinely sides with Chuck Schumer, Elizabeth Warren and the rest of the liberal Washington politicians.
4. How can McCaskill understand the needs of rural Missouri when she’s living the lavish life of a multi-millionaire? McCaskill likes to perform her phony down-home act when she tours Missouri, meanwhile she’s living in a 7k square foot Kirkwood mansion. When she’s back in D.C., McCaskill lives in a $2.7 million penthouse, owns part of a luxury restaurant, and takes her Senate pals on luxurious tropical vacations. That certainly doesn’t sound like a daughter of rural Missouri!
5. Why does she only care about rural Missourians during campaign season? Where has she been the last four and a half years? Whether its health care or crippling government regulations, McCaskill abandons Missouri’s rural voters after every election to push the out-of-touch big government policies favored by Washington Democrats and liberal donors.  Yet without fail, she comes back when the next election cycle nears to pander for the rural vote.

“Missourians don’t buy Claire McCaskill’s phony down-home act for one second,” said NRSC Spokesman Michael McAdams. “Voters know McCaskill’s got more in common with liberal Washington elites than hardworking folks in Missouri.”

During a recent town hall, Claire McCaskill claimed she “respects” Missourians who voted for President Trump, but her actions tell a completely different story.

McCaskill has gone out of her way to criticize and obstruct President Trump. She’s called President Trump a buffoon, and bizarrely said President Trump was the founder of ISIS. McCaskill hasn’t stopped at name calling and insults, she has actively opposed the president’s agenda. After voting against just one of Barack Obama’s nominees, she has already voted against 18 of Trump’s nominees and took the unprecedented step of voting to filibuster Judge Neil Gorsuch. It’s clear McCaskill is still committed to forcing Barack Obama’s failed agenda on Missourians, and doesn’t respect the millions of voters who support President Trump.

“Instead of working to implement the agenda Missouri voters want, McCaskill has taken matters into her own hands to block President Trump’s agenda at every turn,” said NRSC Spokesman Michael McAdams. “Missourians won’t tolerate career politicians like Claire McCaskill standing in the way of the change they voted for.”
