Missouri GOP applauds President Trump’s appointment of Gov. Parson to the Council of Governors

The Missouri Republican Party released this statement today regarding President Trump’s appointment of Governor Mike Parson to the Council of Governors.

“Governor Parson will make a valuable addition to the Council of Governors – President Trump made an excellent choice,” said Kay Hoflander, Chair of the Missouri Republican Party. “Not only does Missouri have a strong National Guard, Governor Parson is a veteran of the U.S. Army, and will provide meaningful experience to the job. I look forward to seeing him join Governors from across the country as they work to make America even stronger.”

The Council of Governors is a bi-partisan panel of ten Governors who advise the Secretary of Defense, the Secretary of Homeland Security, and the White House Homeland Security Council on issues related to the National Guard and national defense, U.S. Homeland security, civil support missions, and disaster response.
