MOGOP Chairman Graves Statement on Confirmation of Justice Kavanaugh
JEFFERSON CITY, MO — This afternoon, the Senate rightly moved forward with Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination to the Supreme Court, and we’re honored to call him the next Associate Justice of the Supreme Court. Despite a months-long smear campaign led by Senate Democrats and obstruction by Claire McCaskill, President Trump has confirmed yet another Supreme Court Justice. Missouri Republican Party chairman Todd Graves released the following statement:
“For months, Brett Kavanaugh and his family and friends have been subjected to a disgusting smear campaign led by Senate Democrats, who insisted on turning his hearings into a complete circus. Throughout this ordeal, Claire McCaskill refused to denounce her colleagues and stayed silent to her constituents. Claire’s ‘NO’ vote on Brett Kavanaugh was fueled solely by her allegiance to Chuck Schumer, and marks the eleventh time she’s voted against one of President Trump’s nominees” said Todd Graves, Chairman of the Missouri Republican Party.
Graves continued, “The President made a great choice when he nominated Brett Kavanaugh, a qualified justice who will serve the Supreme Court well. We’re honored to call Brett Kavanaugh the next Associate Justice of the Supreme Court, and we’re grateful to the strong Republican leadership that made this happen.”
