MOGOP Statement on Claire McCaskill’s Failure to Show Up for Work
Senator Claire McCaskill failed to show up for more than half of her Armed Service Committee hearings and even more absences were documented for her Homeland Security Committee hearings.
MOGOP Executive Director Austin Stukins made this statement:
“Claire McCaskill is playing hooky and skipping over half of her Armed Service Committee hearings – that’s totally unacceptable to the American people. When it’s time to save her job and get re-elected, Claire loves to talk about her work on behalf of military families and keeping America safe, but when it really counts, Claire’s too busy bashing President Trump on MSNBC, while her chair at committee hearings remains empty.”
Stukins continued “Claire owes an explanation to Missourians – especially our military families – who depend on elected representatives to serve their interests in Congress. When the everyday Missourian skips out on work, they lose their job – but it appears Senator McCaskill thinks rules don’t apply to her. McCaskill may try to rally voters at the last bell, but we know the truth: she’s absent.”
