MOGOP Statement on Newly Selected Leadership in General Assembly
In addition to the victories of Josh Hawley and the Republican Congressional Delegation on Tuesday night, Missouri Republicans scored another victory and retained their super majorities in the General Assembly. Recently, the Missouri House and Senate selected their leadership. MOGOP released the following statement regarding the future of the General Assembly under these capable leaders:
“Missouri Republicans have been able to make great strides and pass meaningful reforms at the state level specifically because of the great leadership and dedication of our State Representatives and State Senators. Now that we’ve retained our super majorities in the General Assembly, Missouri is in great hands under the new leadership,” said Chris Nuelle, spokesperson for the Missouri Republican Party.
Nuelle continued, “Speaker Elijah Haahr has a formidable and dedicated team, with Representative Vescovo as Majority Floor Leader and Representative Wiemann as Speaker Pro Tem. The Senate is also lucky to have Senator Schatz as Senate Pro Tem and Caleb Rowden as Majority Leader. The Missouri Republican Party is grateful to have each and every one of these hardworking public servants in leadership roles, and we’re excited to see what they will accomplish in the next legislative session.”
