We Find This Hard To Believe …
We are pleased to welcome President Trump to the Show Me State today!
As you know, Missourians spoke loud and clear when we elected President Trump by an overwhelming majority in 2016. We know the president is dedicated to growing our economy and helping hard-working families, and we look forward to his message on the need for bold tax reform.
In the mean time, we noticed that Senator Claire McCaskill also appears to be welcoming President Trump, and even says she is “looking forward” to working with him. But based on her record, we find this hard to believe.
Below are just a few examples of how McCaskill has either mocked or obstructed President Trump at every turn.
- Despite that Missourians elected President Trump by more than 19 points, Claire McCaskill certainly didn’t heed their call to make Missouri great again. Instead, she proudly joined the resistance, an anti-Trump movement spearheaded by extremist Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), with whom McCaskill has voted 86% of the time.
- When Senate Democrats went to great lengths to prevent confirmation of the president’s cabinet picks, McCaskill was quick to pile on. For example, when the president appointed Scott Pruitt to lead the EPA, McCaskill quipped that approving him would be like “hiring an arsonist to put out fire.”
- Overall, McCaskill voted against 7 of President Trump’s cabinet nominees. This is almost as many “No” votes as Hillary Clinton’s running-mate, Tim Kaine (D-VA).
- McCaskill also voted against Supreme Court nominee Neil Gorsuch. In doing so, she joined the likes of far-leftists like Chuck Schumer (D-NY), whose unabashed disdain for President Trump was summed up when he called the President’s cabinet “the worst cabinet he [has] ever seen in the history of America.“
Last but certainly not least, we can’t forget some of McCaskill’s most bizarre outbursts, like when she called the president a “buffoon” and even claimed that he was a founder of Isis.
“Yet again, Claire McCaskill seems to have forgotten that actions speak louder than words,” said Keelie Broom, Communications Director for the Missouri Republican Party. “No matter how much she says she’s willing to work with President Trump, Missourians know better,” Broom continued. “Her blatantly anti-Trump record is clear — she has no shame in choosing obstruction over her constituents.”
