Jill Schupp Never Met a Tax Increase She Did Not Like

Schupp Has a Record of Supporting Higher Taxes

Jefferson City – Jill Schupp wants to raise taxes on Missouri families living in the 2nd Congressional District and is hoping voters do not learn about her extensive record of supporting higher taxes and opposing tax relief.

As a politician in Jefferson City, Jill Schupp has a long record of supporting higher taxes on Missouri families and small businesses.  But when it comes time to reduce their tax burden Jill Schupp has consistently stood in the way of tax relief.  “I’m really concerned about continuing to cut taxes,” Schupp said.

Jill Schupp’s love for massive tax increases date back to her time as president of the Ladue School Board.  In 2002, she voted for a 21 percent tax hike for the district’s property tax rate. (Source- Diane Plattner, “Ladue School District Will Ask Voters For Hike In Tax Rate,” St. Louis Post- Dispatch, 1/15/01; Ladue School Board, Meeting Minutes, 1/8/01, Vote On Adoption Of The Bond/Tax Resolution: 7-0, Schupp vote: Yes)

“Jill Schupp is the toast of far left liberals like Elizabeth Warren who want another tax-supporting member of the liberal Squad in Washington, D.C.,” said Jean Evans, executive director of the Missouri Republican Party.  “Schupp has never missed an opportunity to support tax increases and vote against tax relief during her decades as a politician.  Liberal Jill Schupp’s preference to hit taxpayers with higher taxes and fees reflects her view that taxpayers should pay the bill for her big government programs, including Medicare for All and the Green New Deal.”
